Three sections listed below are general aftercare advice to leave it alone followed by fleshy “standard” piercing aftercare and oral type piercing steps. Lastly I have a trouble shooting flow chart at the bottom to help direct you when in a moment of uncertainty.
“LITHA” (Leave It The Hell Alone)
Healing a piercing requires minimal intervention. Here’s why you shouldn’t mess with it:
1. Carrier Oils Are a No-No
Oils like olive or grapeseed are comedogenic (clog pores) and can create a perfect environment for bacteria. Applying these near an open wound risks infection, irritation, or delayed healing.
2. Essential Oils Are Irritants
Even diluted with carrier oils, essential oils like tea tree or lavender can irritate the skin. And since carrier oils aren’t safe for open wounds (see above), they only make things worse.
3. Hands Off!
Touching your piercing is one of the quickest ways to introduce bacteria, viruses, and pathogens. Even if you think your hands are clean, they aren’t.
Think About It: If you had a cut, biopsy, or minor surgery, would your doctor tell you to put olive oil or essential oils on it? Absolutely not. They’d say:
• Keep it clean with saline or gentle rinsing in the shower.
• Avoid touching it or applying unnecessary products.
Bottom Line: Let your piercing heal on its own. Keep it clean with saline or gentle water rinses, and LITHA (Leave It the Hell Alone). Over-treating or experimenting can do more harm than good.
Healing despite intervention isn’t the same as healing because of it.
Happy healing!

For Face, Ears, Nipples, Navels, Surface Piercings, etc.

- Use the aftercare solution provided to you, if you lose it or run out I provide more at no cost. If you’re unavailable to stop in and get more please only purchase sterile saline wound wash.
- Use the hole in the top of the bottle to spray down the top and bottom of a single Q-tip per piercing.
- Use that Q-tip to lightly rise off both sides of the jewlery. (No need to push or be to harsh) Less is more in the piercing world.
